About SAMEER : Shitala Pandey, better known as Sameer Anjaan, is an Indian lyricist, writing songs such
as “Mujhe Raat Din Bas”, predominantly in Hindi language films. He is a Guinness World Record holder for
writing the most songs. He was awarded this honor on 17 February 2016.
SAMEER was set up as an autonomous R & D laboratory at Mumbai under the then Department of Electronics,
Government of India with a broad mandate to undertake R & D work in the areas of Microwave Engineering
and Electromagnetic Engineering Technology. It is an offshoot of the special microwave products unit
(SMPU) set up in 1977 at the TATA INSTITUTE OF FUNDAMENTAL RESEARCH (TIFR), Mumbai. SAMEER, Mumbai was
setup in 1984.
Detailed Eligibility for SAMEER Off Campus Drive 2023:
- BE/ B.Tech in Electronics, Communications, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering (IIT) from a recognized University.
- Educational qualification can be single or a combination of the above disciplines.
- Minimum 60% or CGPA 6.2 on a 10-point scale in the qualifying examination as declared by any recognized University.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience related to design and development in the areas of RF/Microwave, Millimeter Wave, VLSI, Radar, Communications and Antennas, in Scientific Institutions, Industrial and Academic Institutions or in both.
- ME/M.Tech.
For Scientist ‘B’ (AS) Code:
Essential Qualifications:
- BE/ B.Tech in Electronics, Communications, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering (IIT) from a recognized University.
- Educational qualification can be single or a combination of the above disciplines & Master Degree in Atmospheric Sciences/ Space Sciences from a recognized University.
- Minimum 60% or CGPA 6.2 on a 10-point scale in the qualifying examination as declared by any recognized University.
Desirable Qualifications: Experience in the field of design, development and validation of atmospheric instruments using different kind of sensors, development and testing of various weather data analysis and processing algorithms / models
For Scientist ‘C’ (MRF) Code:
Essential Qualifications:
- BE/B.Tech in the fields/ disciplines in Electronics, Communications, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering (IIT) from a recognized Institute /University.
- Educational qualification can be in single or a combination of the above disciplines & 4 years post qualification experience related to design and development in the areas of RF/Microwave systems, Millimeter Wave Systems, VLSI, Radar, Communications and Antenna in Scientific R & D Institutions / Industry or in both OR
- ME / M.Tech/ MS in Microwaves, Radar, VLSI, Electronics, Communications, Telecommunications, from a recognized University and Electrical Engineering (IIT) & 2 years post qualification experience related to design and development in the areas of RF/Microwave systems, Millimeter Wave Systems, VLSI, Radar, Communications and Antenna in Scientific R & D Institutions / Industry or in both.
- Minimum 60% or CGPA 6.2 on a 10-point scale in the qualifying examination as declared by any recognized University.
.Desirable Qualification:
- PhD in Engineering (RF/Microwave,. Millimeter Wave, VLSI, Radar, Communications and Antennas)
Note : Candidates should have completed graduation within the stipulated duration of the course as prescribed by the Institute / University.
SAMEER Recruitment 2023 Selection Process :
Selection will be done through 3 stages –
Stage – 1 : Written Test / Computer Based Test (CBT)
- The written test / Computer Based Test is based on GATE syllabus and pattern.
- Minimum marks to obtain for qualifying for the next round -General (50%), OBC (40%) and SC/ST( 30%)
Stage – 2 : Evaluation of Academic Performance:
- Shortlisted candidates are evaluated by an evaluation committee marks for academic qualifications, GATE Score, Experience etc ( 60 Marks will be given for this ).
- A merit list will be prepared based on the sum of the marks obtained out of Written Computer Based Test and academic qualifications to a maximum of 140 marks.
Stage – 3 : Personal Interview:
- Based on the above mentioned shortlisting, five candidates for each post would be called in for an interview in their order of merit ( 60 marks for interview).
- Final merit list would be prepared based on the marks obtained out of a maximum of 200 marks
Note:
- Candidates can choose their choice of venue for screening test from the given locations – Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bengaluru.
- Interviews will be conducted at SAMEER Mumbai.
- GATE Score obtained by the candidate in past three years from the closing date of application only will be considered.
